Factors affecting Metabolic Rate


   
What is metabolic rate? Is is defined as the energy expended by a person, usually expressed in units of energy per unit body mass, per unit time.
    
Mr Tips read somewhere regarding several factors affecting metabolic rate:
1 . Muscular exertion during or just before     measurement
2    .   Recent ingestion of food
3    .   High or low environment temperature
4    .   Height, weight and surface area
5    .   Sex

Some holistic practitioners thought that metabolic rate is subject to one metabolic type e.g; protein type, vegetable type and both. Someone with protein type of metabolism will have problem digesting/assimilating foods suitable for vegetable type and vice versa.
